Biological Surveys and Ecological Solutions

We partnered with an engineering firm to conduct an endangered species assessment, enabling the client to incorporate our findings into their FEMA LOMR application. Our comprehensive approach included habitat surveys, rare plant surveys, a desktop survey, and field surveys, along with USFWS agency consultation, detailed reporting, and a memo specifically tailored for their LOMR application.

We conducted a Migratory Bird Treaty Act (MBTA) nesting bird survey as part of an endangered species assessment for a Texas Department of Transportation (TXDOT) road improvement project. This was done to ensure that no active nesting birds or habitats would be impacted by vegetation clearing activities within the Right-of-Way, alongside necessary habitat surveys and rare plant surveys.

We conducted rare plant surveys as part of our endangered species assessment to ensure that the oil and gas operator would not impact threatened and endangered plant species. Thanks to these efforts, the endangered Scheer's pincushion cactus in New Mexico received protection. We coordinated with state and federal agencies, including the New Mexico State Land Office (SLO) and the Bureau of Land Management (BLM), for plan approval and ensured that the rare plants were safeguarded during habitat surveys and remediation activities.
